Rainbow Crosswalk Restoration Project 2026

Dear Community Partners,

We invite businesses and community partners to sponsor a color of the Rainbow Crosswalk. Each sponsor may choose a color on a first-come, first-served basis and will be recognized as the sponsor of that color and as a sponsor of the Rainbow Crosswalk restoration project.

Sponsor a Color – $1,000

Organizations and businesses are invited to become a Color Sponsor for $1,000 or by making a gift of any amount. Color sponsorships are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

As a Color Sponsor, you will:

  • Choose one of the eight colors of Missoula's Rainbow Crosswalk to sponsor.

  • Be recognized by EmpowerMT as the official sponsor of your selected color and of the Rainbow Crosswalk Restoration Project.

  • Receive recognition in a new informational plaque adjacent to the crosswalk, EmpowerMT's e-newsletter, social media, project marketing materials, and community communications surrounding the restoration and rededication event.

  • Help preserve a lasting symbol of safety, belonging, and inclusion in the heart of Downtown Missoula.

Each color carries its own symbolic meaning:

Red – Life

Orange – Healing

Yellow – Sunlight

Green – Nature

Blue – Harmony & Peace

Purple/Violet – Spirit

Brown – Indigenous Communities

Black – People of Color

Community sponsorships of any amount are also welcome. Any funds raised beyond the project's estimated $9,500 cost will be used for future maintenance and preservation of the Rainbow Crosswalk, ensuring it continues to serve as a vibrant symbol of inclusion for years to come.
