After School Clubs

Empowering youth leadership is a keystone of all EmpowerMT youth programs. Our after-school programs seek to break isolation and build allies across group lines, understand the causes of oppression, strengthen the connection to school through mentorship, and increase skills and confidence in diffusing conflict.

EmpowerMT believes that safe communities start with safe schools and supported, empowered, young people. These after-school programs are free to the community.  For the 2023-2024 school year, EmpowerMT is excited to offer the following after-school programs. Sign up for any of our after-school clubs HERE!

EPIC

Empowering People, Inspiring Change

EPIC stands for Empowering People, Inspiring Change. EPIC is a youth leadership club offered after school for middle school-age youth. EPIC has been empowering young leaders in the Missoula community since 2003! The EPIC program seeks to break isolation and build allies across group lines, understand the causes of oppression, strengthen the connection to school through mentorships, and increase skills & confidence in diffusing conflict. EPIC will meet every Monday from 4-5:30 PM. Please email Jess, Youth Engagement Specialist, at jess@empowermt.org for more information.

Youth Forward & Be You Crew

The mission of Youth Forward (ages 13-19) & Be You Crew (Ages 9-14) is to provide a safe and supportive space for LGBTQ+, Two-Spirit, and Gender Diverse youth to connect with peers, discuss issues relevant to their lives, explore identity through an intersectional lens, and learn more about the ever-expanding LGBTQ+, Two-Spirit, & Gender diverse community. This space and the connections made within Youth Forward & Be You Crew are intended to empower and support queer youth leadership. Be You Crew will meet every Tuesday from 5:30-7 PM & Youth Forward will meet every other Wednesday from 5:30-7 PM. Please email Jess, Youth Engagement Specialist, at jess@empowermt.org for more information.

ABY (Association of BIPOC Youth)

EmpowerMT recognizes that being a student of color in a predominantly white school is a very isolating experience. Therefore, ABY offers BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) youth an opportunity to connect authentically with each other. This group centers around giving students of color an opportunity to feel supported in their racial identity, learn a more racially diverse and inclusive history and take action against mistreatment and discrimination. ABY will meet every other Wednesday from 5:30-7 PM. Please email Jess, Youth Engagement Specialist, at jess@empowermt.org for more information.
